What a beautiful journey the last two years have been with Kenyla. In 2016 I was diagnosed with PTSD due to repressed childhood trauma and refused to take meds to treat my condition. Since fitness had always been a part of my life, and I knew this was the path to healing.

Kenyla was brave enough to take the challenge in rewiring my brain and connecting me with my body. I experienced tears of joy and sadness. We both developed and learned from each other. The strength and resiliency I have now are beyond the power of glutes and biceps. Cynthia Pun, 39

Even when she's pushing you for the last rep, there's always room for fun working out with Kenyla! She has an incredibly positive energy, which really translates to helping you achieve your work out goals. Kenyla will take the time to break down the movements and show you through video analysis where you might be having issues. Before I trained with her, I barely had any experience with Olympic lifting as it seemed really intimidating to me. After over a year of training with her expertise, I have been able to master snatches, cleans and jerks, all things that before would have been unfathomable to me. I appreciate how she checks in with you every session so that she can customize exercises to your abilities that day, and like a good teacher, she also asks you to reflect on what you have learned that day.

Vanessa Sanon, 29

Kényla ALWAYS push me to challenge myself while keeping the proper form. She taught me how to be ambitious with my workouts and push my body way past what I thought was possible. I was a cardio girl before but she showed me that weightlifting could transform my body in ways I could not even imagine. And she is always up for a good laugh.

Kenyla's positive energy and thoughtfulness in terms of programming have radically shifted the way I view the gym. I was very tentative with strength training and was greatly concerned with my form. With Kenyla's guidance, I am not only objectively stronger, but I feel more confident when approaching all physical activities. Kenyla is incredibly warm and knowledgable and it was easy to trust her right away. Her enthusiasm for becoming stronger and healthier is contagious and I feel really fortunate to have had her as my trainer. Kenyla has taught me to have specific and achievable goals. With her help, I am on my way to be running a half marathon in the near future!

I learnt that fitness is a multi-layered thing: physical, mental, spiritual, and even emotional (be it tears of relief or frustration). It's also an investment in my future as I face the reality of aging. I've also learned that teaching is a two-way street, as while Kenyla has taught me so much about fitness, she is also opens to learning about your unique situation to better train you. Don't be fooled by her hoop earrings and pretty smile; she's a sharp intellectual and very intuitive. What I look for in the future? To keep the physical and mental strength up, to literally move forward with courage and grace, and for Kenyla to be a part of that.

I’m not scared of the bar/weight anymore and I’m actually excited to go to my training to see what the next challenge I can take up. 

Kényla was not only a huge help for my body shape but also for my state of mind. She is so positive no matter what, she pushes me just the way I need it and trusts me more than I do which definitely help with my self-confidence.

Vanessa Mayer

I can now confidently walk into any gym and I know exactly what to do. I no longer feel like an outsider. For the first time in my life I workout regularly because I want to and because it makes me feel better, both physically and mentally. One of the many lessons I have learned from Kenyla is that my gym time is MY time - I can go there to simply concentrate on myself and forget for an hour about anything else that is on my mind.
